About Lila Volkas

Lila Volkas is a Certified Nutrition Consultant and workshop facilitator based in Oakland, California, creating experiences at the intersection of food, beverage, and wellness. With over a decade of teaching and tens of thousands of participants worldwide, she brings her signature blend of mixology, culinary technique, nutrition, and herbalism to audiences of all kinds — from intimate gatherings to corporate events with 400+ people.

It started in 2012 with kombucha. While in college, Lila began teaching fermentation workshops out of a deep love for foods that make you feel good and a belief that making something yourself should be within everyone's reach. Her first class filled the basement café of her student food co-op and planted the seed for everything that followed.

A struggle with chronic health challenges led her to holistic nutrition, and what began as a personal healing journey became a professional calling. She earned her Holistic Nutrition Consultant certification from Bauman College, graduating as Valedictorian, and turned that hard-won knowledge into a career devoted to making food, beverage, and wellness information easy to understand and fun to learn.

Lila specializes in corporate team-building for companies including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon, bringing teams together through hands-on food, beverage, and wellness experiences. Whether virtual or in-person, her workshops give employees the chance to connect, learn, and enjoy something truly delicious.

Learning Liquids is Lila's education platform dedicated to the art and science of zero-proof beverage creation. Blending mixology, culinary technique, nutrition, and herbalism, it's for anyone who wants to go beyond mocktail recipes and truly understand what makes a great non-alcoholic drink.

She makes complex information accessible and fun, always keeps it real, and believes that being an educated consumer and enjoying delicious things are not mutually exclusive. Because life is too short for boring drinks — and too precious not to feel good in your body.
